Police are investigating after a female e-scooter rider was caught on CCTV crashing into a gran on the pavement - leaving her badly injured.<br/><br/>Video footage captures the woman, believed to be in her 30s, smashing into 67-year-old Shirley Smith and knocking her to the ground.<br/><br/>The pensioner was left with severe bruising all over her body and says she is still seeking medical treatment for back pain since being flattened on April 9.<br/><br/>Northamptonshire Police said they were investigating the collision but nobody has yet been arrested.<br/><br/>Mrs Smith had been walking off her driveway towards a friend's car when she was ploughed into by the woman riding a Voi rental e-scooter.<br/><br/>CCTV shows the gran-of-two being sent sprawling to the floor along Windmill Avenue in Kettering, Northants., before getting up and remonstrating with the rider.<br/><br/>According to Mrs Smith, the woman then blamed her for the accident and demanded to know why she 'didn't look where she was going' before speeding away.<br/><br/>Mrs Smith and her husband Mike are now calling for harsher punishments for e-scooter riders breaking the law. <br/><br/>She said: \

I saw the smoke and I thought it was steam from the radiator. <br/><br/>“I had a look underneath the bonnet and saw the fire. It was right by the battery, so it was the electrical fire.<br/><br/>“I just said to the couple 'if I were you I would get out as fast as you can'.<br/><br/>“They were out the vehicle, then they went back in to get some stuff. Then I brought <br/>them up there. <br/><br/>“The old boy went back into the car to get the belongings, I ran after him and grabbed him around his waist and pulled him out. <br/><br/>“There was something in the vehicle he wanted, we all do it.<br/><br/>“It was the beginning of the inferno. We walked to my car and then it started. <br/><br/>“The tyres went. It was only about a minute or two. <br/><br/>“He wouldn’t have moved quick enough to get out. He would’ve been struggled to get out. <br/><br/>“They were a bit shaken up. The old boy said it never happened to him in all his years of driving. <br/><br/>“They were on the way to hospital when the engine started smoking.”<br/><br/>Firefighters dashed to the scene and quickly extinguished the blaze which completely destroyed the car.<br/><br/>A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Worcester Fire Station was called to Malvern Road in Powick at 10.13am.<br/><br/>He said: \")
